I’m Teresa Ayugi, an Arts Administrator, Operations Manager, Project Coordinator, and the founder of The Administrator Studio.
My journey in the arts and culture sector began 18 years ago. I’ve found that while artists and cultural leaders are brilliant at imagining, the administrative structure that supports that work is sometimes under-resourced, overlooked, or overwhelming.
That's where my interest in helping creative practitioners grow - by strengthening the foundations that make their work possible - took shape. This involves the day-to-day operations as well as long-term sustainability.
Additionally, over the years, I have developed experience in fundraising strategy, income development, and funder and partnership relations. I help organisations identify aligned funders, develop funding proposals, and build sustainable relationships over time. I understand that for many arts organisations, the question of: ‘How do we keep doing this?’- is as important as the work itself.
In my long-term role as Operations Administrator and Manager at Chimurenga, I’ve been honoured to play a part in supporting an important pan-African organisation — helping it grow from a thought-leading magazine into an internationally recognised organisation. Along the way, we’ve been recognised by leaders such as the Prince Claus Fund and the Vera List Center for art and social justice, honours that reflect the brilliance of the people I’ve been privileged to work with.
With The Administrator Studio, I bring this experience into partnership with artists, cultural organisations, and solopreneurs who need reliable strategic support. My approach is collaborative, relational, and grounded in respect for creative vision.
