Creative organisations are built on vision. They thrive when that vision is supported by strong operations, sustainable income/funding, meaningful partnerships, and systems that allow people to do their best work.

For nearly two decades, I've worked at the intersection of operations, organisational development, fundraising strategy, financial management, project leadership, and partnership development, helping artists, publishers, cultural organisations, and creative leaders build the foundations that enable ambitious ideas to flourish.

I'm Teresa Ayugi, founder of The Administrator Studio.

My career began in arts administration, but over the past 18 years my work has evolved far beyond administration alone. I've become a strategic partner to organisations navigating growth, complexity, and change by helping them strengthen their operations, develop sustainable funding strategies, improve organisational systems, and create the structure needed to deliver meaningful cultural impact.

During my 18 years with Chimurenga, I had the privilege of contributing to the organisation's evolution from a thought-leading pan-African magazine into an internationally recognised cultural organisation. Alongside an extraordinary team, I helped build and strengthen the operational, financial, fundraising, and partnership systems that supported its growth and long-term sustainability. The organisation's recognition by the Prince Claus Fund and the Vera List Center reflects the collective vision, creativity, and commitment of the people I was honoured to work alongside.

Today, through The Administrator Studio, I partner with creative organisations, cultural leaders, and mission-driven founders who are looking for more than administrative support. They are seeking a trusted thought partner who understands both the realities of the creative sector and the organisational discipline required to build resilient, sustainable institutions.

Whether we're strengthening internal operations, preparing for growth, developing funding strategies, managing complex projects, or creating systems that allow teams to work more effectively, my role is to bring clarity where there is complexity and structure where there is uncertainty with care, collaboration, and deep respect for the vision that drives the work.

I believe the strongest organisations are those where creativity and operational excellence work hand in hand. When the right foundations are in place, artists and cultural leaders have the freedom to focus on what they do best: creating work that moves people, shapes conversations, and contributes to society.

If you're looking for a strategic partner to help your organisation grow with clarity, sustainability, and confidence, I'd love to start a conversation.
